Weekly Update #21

Pets
67. Leash-train Jack and Jasper

As of this week, all four goats are doing great with walking on a leash, even Frank! Maybe I'll try walking them up and down the driveway when it warms up.

68. Breed Zoe and Frank

Still no clue if Zoe's pregnant or not. :-/

70. Rescue a dog from a shelter

I've been reading into how to care for and how to train a dog. There's also a website for rescued Border Collies. YAY! I've still got a lot to learn, though, before we can get a dog.

I made it all the way from November 2005 to March 3, 2006. Not bad, I think. *nods*

Weekly Update #20

Satisfying Nerdom
89. Place tags on all of my old journal entries including LJ and Xanga

I've been putting this off because I wasn't up for re-reading old entries from late 2005. I'm feeling pretty emotionally spiffy today, though, so here's hoping I can make a sizable dent in the situation before I don't feel like working on it any more.

Weekly Update #19

Reading
78. Read the following books:
• One Twilight book
Memoirs of a Geisha
• Catcher in the Rye
• Gone With the Wind
• Bridge to Teribithia

I finished Memoirs of a Geisha the day after I posted my last update. It was a very beautiful book, though harsh. Of course, a geisha's life was harsh and not all about tea and kimonos. I think the biggest shock I had at the differences between the movie and the book was Mameha. In the movie, she is very sweet and kind. She's also kind in the book, but... it's hard to describe. She's kind for a geisha, but she's still rather strict, and rather harsh sometimes. I guess she had to be, considering the lifestyle. :-/

I really enjoyed the book, but unlike so many people who love the book and despise the movie, I still love the movie. It's a beautiful film with a beautiful story of a little girl overcoming all the odds that were against her and having her dearest dreams come true. The cherry blossom party incident still upsets me, but I guess it's a small price to pay.

Anyway, I should really get a library card and start reading some of these other books.
